Harry Rice was one of the Speedbowl racers who got the upstart Street Stock division off the ground in the late 1970’s. Rice won the 7th race in what is now the current Late Model division back in 1977.
When the division was upgraded to Super Stocks in 1980, he became the division’s first big star. Rice won races in each of the first 5 seasons, including 4 in 1980 and 5 in 1981, both of which led the division and resulted in back-to-back Super Stock Championships. His biggest win was the 50 lapper at the end of the 1980 season. He set a division record with 4 straight wins in 1981.

He moved up to the Modifieds for the 1982 season and earned his 1st win on August 14th and was named Co-Rookies of the Year with Randy Lajoie.
The Speedbowl transitioned to SK Modifieds in 1985 and Harry kept on winning with a 3-win season in 1988. His last win came in July 20, 1991. Rice would compete regularly in 1992, then quietly left the Speedbowl scene.
