A former motocross competitor in his 20’s, Jimmy Broderick became one of the stars of the SK Modified division at the Waterford Speedbowl during the 1990’s. He won 20 races during the decade, only Ted Christopher (21) had more.

When he teamed up with car owner Harry Wyant, he really hit his stride, leading the division in wins three straight seasons (1994-1996) and winning back-to-back SK Modified Championships in 1995-1996. His biggest win at the Speedbowl was the Finale SK 100 at the end of the 1996 season.

Although he had 3 wins in the first half of the 1997, Broderick and Wyant parted ways mid-season. Broderick would win 2 more races that year driving Angie Cerase’s #51. They ended up being the last 2 wins of his career at the Speedbowl. Broderick would go on to win a SK Modified Championship at Stafford Speedway, a Modified Championship at Riverside Park Speedway and NASCAR Regional title before the decade ended.
